Portfolio Description

Aksion.ET is Ethiopia's capital market intelligence platform - financial news, bank fundamentals and live exchange data in one place - built and operated by our team, and running on Echo Newsroom.

The timing is the point. The Ethiopian Securities Exchange is new, the market around it is forming, and the information investors need has been scattered across PDFs, press notices and printed annual reports. Aksion.ET was built to be the place that data is actually usable.

What we built

The platform is a publication and a database at once: an editorial front end for capital market coverage, sitting on a structured data layer that the newsroom, the readers and the AI copilot all query.

  • Verified financial profiles for more than 30 Ethiopian commercial banks, with audited statements going back over a decade and comparable organisational metrics.
  • Live ESX share and stock prices for listed companies, with performance snapshots and full price history.
  • A market data layer covering treasury bill auctions, foreign exchange auction results and prevailing market rates.
  • A directory of ECMA-licensed capital market service providers, and a searchable B2B directory of verified business profiles by sector and location.
  • An investment opportunities marketplace carrying business listings, partnership matching and franchise opportunities.
  • Editorial coverage across capital markets, economy, business, technology and policy, produced through Echo Newsroom.

The Aksion AI Copilot

The hardest problem on the platform is not gathering the data, it is that most people cannot read it. A bank's audited statement answers almost any question you might have, and almost nobody can get an answer out of it.

So the data layer is queryable in plain language. A reader can ask the copilot to compare share prices across banks, explain why a price moved, track a ticker's history, or set bank fundamentals side by side, and get the comparison and the trend back in a sentence rather than a spreadsheet. It answers from the platform's own verified figures - audited financials, ESX prices, treasury bill and FX auction rates - rather than from open-ended generation, which is what makes it safe to publish against financial data.

Built on Echo Newsroom

Aksion.ET publishes through Echo Newsroom, our AI newsroom platform: research agents assemble the source material, content agents draft to house style, the design agent produces the artwork and data graphics, and distribution to every social channel happens in one step. It is the reason a publication covering a whole national capital market keeps a daily publishing rhythm without a daily-newspaper payroll.
