Research, writing, design, video and multi-channel publishing as one system. Echo Newsroom lets a one-person newsroom produce what used to take a full desk.
Echo Newsroom is an AI newsroom platform that runs the whole production pipeline in one system: research agents gather and cross-reference sources, content agents draft to house style, a design agent produces artwork, video is generated with motion graphics, and everything publishes to every social channel in one click.

The arithmetic that is breaking newsrooms
Covering a beat properly has always required six kinds of work: finding out what happened, writing it, editing it, illustrating it, cutting it into video, and getting it in front of an audience. Traditionally that meant six people, or six jobs distributed across a team.
Almost no independent publisher can carry that payroll now, and the response has mostly been subtraction. Drop the video. Drop the graphics. Post the headline to one platform and hope. The result is a newsroom that still costs what it costs and reaches a fraction of what it used to.
Echo Newsroom is built on a different premise: that five of those six jobs are now largely automatable, and the sixth - editorial judgement about what is true and what matters - is the one that should never have been the bottleneck in the first place.
What Echo Newsroom does
Six agents, one system, one editorial workspace over the top:
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Research | Agents monitor your sources, gather and cross-reference material, and hand the desk a briefed, cited starting point instead of a blank page. |
| Writing | Content agents draft to a defined house style and adapt one story into the lengths and registers each channel needs - the long piece, the newsletter, the thread, the caption. |
| Design | A design agent produces article artwork, social cards and data graphics in your publication's own visual identity, not a stock template. |
| Video | News packages generated with AI-composed design and motion graphics, so a written story becomes a watchable one without an edit suite or an editor's afternoon. |
| Distribution | One click publishes to every social channel at once, each post shaped for the platform it lands on rather than cross-posted identically. |
| Editorial control | Commissioning, review, approval and scheduling in one workspace, with a human sign-off before anything goes out. |
Why this is not the same as the tools you have tried
Every part of this exists somewhere. That is exactly the problem it solves.
There are good tools that generate and schedule social posts across a dozen networks. There are good tools that turn a finished article into short-form video. Large newsrooms with engineering budgets have built pieces of the rest internally - the Associated Press has trialled an agent that assembles broadcast rundowns, and Schibsted built an article-to-video system for its own titles. Those are internal tools; they were never products anyone else could buy.
So the working publisher's actual experience is five subscriptions, four exports, and a person whose real job is moving files between them. The integration tax eats the saving.
Echo Newsroom is one system across the whole pipeline. The research feeds the draft, the draft feeds the artwork and the video, and all of it publishes from the same place - because it is the same product, not five products in a folder.
Nothing publishes without a human approving it. That is a design decision, not a limitation - an automated newsroom that can publish a false claim at scale is not an asset, it is a liability with a subscription fee.
What Echo Newsroom removes is the production work around the judgement. The editor still decides what is true and what matters. They simply stop spending the afternoon resizing images.
Who it is for
- Independent and local publishers running on a team of one to five, who need the output of a full desk.
- Specialist and trade publications covering a narrow beat deeply, where research is the expensive part.
- Media startups launching now, who would rather not rebuild the same five integrations everyone else has.
- Established newsrooms with a video and social gap they cannot afford to staff.
- Organisations that publish like a newsroom without being one - market intelligence desks, research firms, industry bodies.
Running in production
Echo Newsroom runs Aksion.ET, a financial news and market intelligence publication covering the Ethiopian capital market: bank fundamentals, live exchange prices, treasury and foreign exchange auctions, and daily editorial coverage of a market that is being built in real time.
It is a demanding first deployment on purpose. Financial coverage has to be fast, has to be accurate, and cannot skip a day - which is a fair test of whether a newsroom that runs on agents actually holds up.
